Morning Arrival and Campus Safety Reminders

Dear Monticello Families,

As our student population continues to grow, we want to take a moment to review our morning drop-off procedures and campus safety rules. Ensuring that every student safely transitions from your vehicle to their classroom is our top priority. We ask that all parents, guardians, and family members who drive on or near our 1001 Cambridge Place campus review the following guidelines.

Parking Lot Traffic Flow

The morning drop-off rush can be busy, but patience and adherence to the rules keep traffic moving smoothly and our students safe.

  • Follow the Arrows: Please observe all directional arrows and signage in the parking lot. Do not drive against the designated flow of traffic under any circumstances.
  • Pull Forward: When using the designated drop-off lane, pull your vehicle as far forward as possible before letting your student out. This allows more cars to enter the loading zone behind you.
  • Use Crosswalks: If you choose to park and walk your child to the gates, you must use the marked crosswalks. Please do not weave between cars in the drop-off lane.

Cold and Rainy Day Procedures

With unpredictable spring weather, please be aware of our inclement weather protocol. On mornings when it is actively raining or the temperature drops below 40 degrees, students should not wait outside. Instead, students are to go directly to the cafeteria prior to the start of school. They will be supervised by staff and taken directly to their classrooms following the 8:10 AM bell.

Checking Students Out Early

If your child has an appointment and needs to leave school before the final bell, please ensure you bring a valid photo ID to the front office. For the safety of our students, we cannot release a child to anyone who is not listed as an authorized contact in the Aeries Parent Portal. We highly encourage you to log into Aeries this week to verify that your emergency contact list is up to date.

Thank you for your continued cooperation, respect, and commitment to making Monticello Elementary a safe place for our students to learn!
